Omega - Set Up & Data Retrieval

omega whitesheet_page_1_image_0003.jpgThe OMEGA is a counter that will start collecting timestamp data automatically.  All you need to do is connect the road tube(s) and when the first vehicle that passes over the road tube in either direction will start collection and begin data storage.

The following steps will guide the user through manual set up and data retrieval.

START RECORDING:  You may touch the left side of the counter to “back up” one step, or continue to touch the right side to advance one step.

  • We recommend you verify the proper clock and calendar settings here, using magnetic touch points on the counter.  Follow the prompts as given; ‘Set’ to the left, and ‘Next’ to the right.  Set one item at a time.
  • Select ‘Next’ and you will be taken to ‘Waiting for any vehicle’.  You may toggle between VOLUME and PER VEHICLE studies at this point using your magnet and the left side of the Omega.  Select ‘Next’ when this is decided.
  • ‘Setup Complete’ will be the next item shown.  Touching the left side of the counter at this time will ‘Abort’ this set up/study.  Touching the right side will ‘Start’ the study and the Omega will begin recording data.

SHOW STATUS (Not Collecting):  You may touch the left side of the counter to “back up” one step, or continue to touch the right side to advance one step.

  • Touch magnet to right side of counter to activate.  This will allow you to view the current battery level, both in numeric and graphic value; as well as estimated battery time remaining.
  • Touch the right side again, and you will see the current available memory, both in numeric and graphic value; as well as estimated number of days available.
  • Touch the right side again, and you will see the current internal temperature displayed in both F and C.

  • Channel/Volume/Status’. You’ll see A and/or B channel, the number of hits and the tube status.

Now we’re back to the Main Menu again, and if you touch the right side of the Omega, you will be taken in to the File Menu.
