Omega G Airswitch Replacement

The following video shows you how to replace the Omega G air-switch block.  Following this guide, the average replacement time is less than 5 minutes.

You will need:
 #1 Philips screw driver
1/2" deep well socket and ratchet driver
pick or small flat head screwdriver

Care should be taken at all steps in disassembly and reassembly.

There are two screws (#1 Phillips) that secure the faceplate to the counter case.  After the screws are removed, use a pick or a small flat head screwdriver to gently lift the faceplate.  Do not break the black tabs that are located on the hinge side of the counter.  Gently lift and slide the faceplate away from these tabs.  Once the faceplate is clear of these tabs, you can lift the faceplate.  Turn the face plate over to view the circuit board and two wire harnesses.  One at a time, depress the tab and slide the harness out of its socket.  Be careful to not damage or remove surface mount components.  After both wire harnesses have been removed, set the circuit board and faceplate assembly aside.

Use the deep well socket (1/2") and remove the two brass nozzles.  Remove the original air-switch block and place the new one into position, double checking that the rubber O-rings are in position.  Each O-ring should be seated so that there is a small portion slightly above the air-switch block.  Screw in each of the brass nozzles by hand several turns to ensure that the threads nozzle is not cross threaded.  You may need to hold the air-switch block to the inside of the case and snug to finger tight.  Using the deep well socket, tighten the brass nozzles to the counter case.  Over tightening may cause the case to break or crack.

Next reconnect the two harnesses back onto the circuit board.  These are keyed as to prevent insertion into the wrong port, be sure that the battery/power harness is connected to the port near the blue and gold capacitor (cylinder).

The counter will power on when the power harness has been reconnected.

When reinserting the screws, be sure to not cross thread the screws.  With slight downward pressure, unscrew each screw until it falls into position and screw it into place.  This will help ensure that the screw is using the previous threads.
